Updated information on Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) and vaccines

1. Scientific Committees under CHP updated consensus interim recommendations on use of COVID-19 vaccines in persons with previous COVID-19 infections and children

The Scientific Committee on Vaccine Preventable Diseases and the Scientific Committee on Emerging and Zoonotic Diseases (JSC) under the Centre for Health Protection (CHP) of the Department of Health convened an online meeting, joined by the Chief Executive’s expert advisory panel (EAP) to discuss the use of COVID-19 vaccines in persons with previous COVID-19 infections and children, and the updated consensus interim recommendations is published.

2. “Declaration System for Individuals Tested Positive for COVID-19 Using Rapid Antigen Test” launched

The Government earlier announced that members of the public who tested positive by RAT, whether distributed by the Government or on their own purchase, should be considered positive cases and avoid going out. The Government today launched the System for people to register RAT positive results to enable speedier assistance to people tested positive. The link to the System is www.chp.gov.hk/ratp.

3. Government explains latest criteria for early discharge from isolation and home quarantine

The Government reiterated that the latest criteria for early discharge from isolation for persons infected with COVID-19 and discharge from community isolation facilities (CIFs) or home quarantine for close contacts announced earlier is not applicable to those who have not been vaccinated or have only received one dose of COVID-19 vaccine.

4. Government updates list of places of recognised vaccination records

The Government announced that it has concluded discussions with the Government of Suriname to accept vaccination records issued by Suriname as recognised vaccination records for Hong Kong residents who have stayed in Group A specified places under the mechanism. The relevant arrangements take at 0.00am on March 16.

5. 54th round of compulsory testing for staff members of RCHEs, RCHDs and nursing homes to commence shortly

The Government announced that the 54th round of compulsory testing for staff members of residential care homes for the elderly (RCHEs), residential care homes for persons with disabilities (RCHDs) and nursing homes will commence shortly.
